Our most feared enemies are camped nearby, waiting for the right moment. We are in danger! Defend the lands of Provence from Saracen raids. 890 A.D. is a tile placement game set among the sunny lavender fields of Provence.

As a feudal lord you have your castle and your Lordship, a territory where you can build fortifications, religious buildings, inns and different kinds of crops. You earn points by strengthening your defenses against the Saracens, but be careful: when misfortune hits one player, others may take advantage. Decisions have to be made quickly, and interaction with the others happens entirely on the board, through the tactical choice of tiles and the abilities of the characters, which let you steal coins or swap cards.

How to play

1. You have only 8 turns to make your lands thrive by building structures and crops.
2. Earn wealth, gather resources and attract special characters into a 3x3 grid.
3. Create rows of lavender, poppies, olive trees and wheat to call a character under the banner of the matching color.
4. Remember that once the grid is full, it can no longer be changed.

For 2 to 4 players, ages 10 and up, about 60 minutes.
