In Bonsai the ancient Japanese art of miniature trees becomes a tile placement game. You are master growers competing to display your work in the Imperial Gardens: each turn you choose to Meditate, taking a card, or Cultivate, adding trunk, leaf, flower and fruit tiles according to the growth rules, to complete goals.
How to play
- Each player grows their own bonsai, starting from a pot and a trunk tile.
- On your turn you choose one of two actions: Meditate, taking a card from the table that gives you new tiles or new abilities, or Cultivate, adding trunk, leaf, flower and fruit tiles to your tree, each with its own growth rules.
- During the game you can claim goals, for example a very wide tree or one full of flowers.
- When the cards run out you score leaves, flowers, fruits, goals and cards: the most beautiful bonsai wins.
- 1 to 4 players, ages 10 and up
- Solo mode against the Emperor

What condition are the single cards in?
The condition is shown in the selected variant, for example Near Mint, Excellent or Poor. Check it before adding the card to your cart. Any specific notes are included in the product description.
How are the cards shipped?
With tracked shipping and protective packaging: single cards travel rigidly protected, and sealed products are carefully packaged to arrive intact.
How do preorders work?
Preorders are dispatched from the product's official release date. If your order contains both preorders and in-stock items, everything is shipped together at release.
