Flamme Rouge is an old school cycling race on the table. Each player runs a team with a sprinter and a rouleur, and every turn secretly chooses how hard to push by playing energy cards. Riding in the other cyclists' slipstream saves energy, leading the pack wears you out: the first to cross the line wins.
How to play
- Each player controls two riders, a sprinter and a rouleur, and each has their own deck of energy cards.
- Each turn, for each rider, you draw 4 cards, secretly keep one and put the others at the bottom of the deck. Then all cards are revealed and riders move by the chosen number.
- A rider who ends one space behind another catches the slipstream and moves up for free; a rider at the front with open road ahead takes an exhaustion card, which slows their deck down.
- On climbs there is no slipstream and speed is limited, on descents you go faster: the first rider across the finish line wins.
- 2 to 4 players, ages 8 and up, games of 30 to 45 minutes
