Europe, 18th century. The Church is losing its grip on a humanity trying to come to terms with old dogma and ancient superstition. Alchemists, occultists and secret societies dig deep to bring old mysteries and ancient darkness to light. Illuminati, Freemasons, Templars and other secret societies scheme in their hidden halls, while nobles live in decadence and common people suffer in poverty.
It is an age of enlightenment, but also of ignorance. Few know anything of the growing darkness, of vampires and other spawn of the Devil. Who will save humanity from this twilight of the gods? Is the Apocalypse really near?
LexOccultum takes place in a fictional 18th century history, where the occult and the supernatural are real but not yet in full bloom. Atlas Mundi describes the game's setting, including the chapters Il Mondo and Sub Rosa. It is a book for the LexOccultum roleplaying game, so you need the base game.
